Instructors:
As educators, we strive to integrate technology into our instruction every day. But how often are we actually learning in an online setting? Now, we invite you to be a professional online learner and participate in SCCOE’s Professional Innovation Pathways. Each course and academy focuses on a unique digital theme, relevant research, and best practices of digital learning.
Description
The growing use of technology has provided educators a greater opportunity to share information with parents, partners, and vendors. This can be highly beneficial if used carefully and within the scope of the law. Creating guidelines to manage the flow of information, specifically PII (personally identifiable information) is an obligation of school districts to assure laws are adhered to, and more importantly, maintain student safety.
Course Proficiencies
You are acquainted with the recent research, challenges, and case studies around the use of student data at district and school sites. You have explored opportunities to critically evaluate teacher and staff training, online resources, case studies, and other tools to help facilitate the legal handling of student data.
