Description

This course guides educators through the major issues surrounding digital citizenship and how to address them in schools. Each of the four pathways offers resources, videos and lessons to help educators at all levels, from administrators to teachers to coaches, use digital tools appropriately and lead students and parents toward becoming better digital citizens. You'll gain a comprehensive understanding of how to use the various national standards to develop, model and facilitate digital citizenship skills. Additionally, we have aligned many of our tasks to the Common Sense Education Digital Citizenship Certified Educator program. 

Course Proficiencies

You have explored resources and tools available on Common Sense Education and have a strong sense of digital literacy awareness. You have strategically examined CSE's Digital Citizenship K-12 Scope and Sequence and determined a right-fit lesson for your students. You have also joined a Digital Citizenship PLN and curated digcit videos on YouTube. You have considered strategies to integrate digital citizenship instruction into the curriculum and taught or observed a Digital Citizenship lesson being taught. You have collected valuable student evidence, communicated with families, and reflected on your overall digital citizenship journey in this course.
