As educators, we strive to integrate technology into our instruction every day. But how often are we actually learning in an online setting? Now, we invite you to be a professional online learner and participate in SCCOE’s Professional Innovation Pathways. Each course and academy focuses on a unique digital theme, relevant research, and best practices of digital learning.
Description
Design thinking is a human-centered approach to innovation that focuses on empathy and experimentation. Developed for the business world, design thinking has seamlessly become an educational model that develops skills in students and other learners while they learn content in the context of real-world issues. This course will introduce you to design thinking and assist you in using the strategy in your own classroom or with colleagues at your school or work site.
Course Proficiencies
You will provide evidence of your understanding of the systematic approach to problem-solving, what it means to develop empathy, experiment, challenge assumptions, and share your work. You will plan an opportunity for your students or colleagues to use the design thinking process and share a reflection on their progress.
