Description
The impact of computer science in life continues to increase relentlessly, and education about computer science has not kept pace. While designed with K-5 educators in mind, this course will support anyone who wants to understand the California computer science standards, fundamental concepts, best practices, and how to start student computer science learning in the classroom.
Course Proficiencies
This course is an introduction to Computer Science in education. Participants have explored the essential Computer Science student standards and competencies. Participants have explored key terms, strategies to implement Computer Science, and foundational concepts and practices from an interdisciplinary perspective. They have demonstrated competency in understanding the Computer Science standards relevant to their students and developing a lesson to support the standards.
